Yes! “The best self-esteem is steady and secure – Real confidence isn’t about thinking you're better than others or chasing approval. It’s about knowing your worth stays the same no matter what happens.”
I absolutely loved reading this. It came at the perfect time because I’m reading The Six Pillars of Self Esteem, currently on the pillar of self-acceptance. Have you read this book? If so, I’d love to know your thoughts from a psychiatrist perspective.
Every time I was reading it I wanted to make sure I linked it back to Islam and your post did just that!
Your point on performance-based relationship with Allah was very confronting! But needed!
Thank you for your comment! I haven’t read that book yet, but from my quick glance at its table of contents, the pillars seem to be grounded in the idea of turning inward, which is a positive approach.
As for the other part, I didn’t intend for it to be confronting! I wrote it as a way to provide a complete response to a question I was once asked in a previous Note. I believe it’s something others have wondered about as well.
I never looked at it this way, thank you for giving me a new and better perspective. ❤️
You’re welcome!
